How to Apply

Positions

We have two types of instructors at OneUP; full-time instructors and independent contractors. We are currently looking for friendly, motivated and professional independent contractors. The independent contractor position allows for a flexible schedule where the instructor can choose their lesson hours in advance based on their availability. We also offer some incentives to our independent contractors such as preparation and weekend bonuses.

*There is a possibility of becoming a full-time instructor in the future should an instructor show he or she has a good, professional work ethic, is a team player and can offer fun and informative lessons at a consistently high standard.

Requirements

Applicants must be native English speakers, having completed the majority of their education in an English speaking country.
They must have at least one year of teaching experience with preference going to those with one-on-one teaching experience or experience teaching in Japan.
Applicants must currently reside in or willing to relocate to the greater Tokyo metropolitan area.

*Interviews will be conducted at one of our school locations. We, therefore, regret that we are unable to accept applications from overseas.

Applicants should hold a 3 or 4-year degree from an accredited university. Preference will be given to those who:
are proficient in Japanese
are able to work on weekends and 2-3 evenings during the week
have teaching credentials

Recruiting Process

Step1–

The first step is to follow the link below and fill out the appropriate information.

Step2–

The CV will be screened and candidates we wish to speak to in person will be offered an interview.

Step3–

Candidates who successfully pass the first interview will be asked back for a second interview which will include a short demo lesson (using OneUP material).

Step4–

Those who successfully pass the second interview will then be offered a position at OneUP.

Step5–

If an invitation for employment is extended; a paid three-day training session (four hours each day) will be scheduled.

Step6–

After training has been completed you can start working at OneUP!
