I believe often times people forget about themselves, especially mothers, in an effort to ensure that everyone else is taken care of. They please others and forget themselves. I, on the other hand, believe that if you don’t take care of you, then you will not be able to care for others. That’s the reason I splurge on the things I do. That’s the reason I enjoy splurging at the spa. I believe you can’t help others if you’re not in good shape yourself. The spa is a great way to help you relax and refocus.
I can’t help but splurge on clothes. It’s one of my philosophies that you should always look your best, especially on your worst days. Looking good helps you to feel better. There’s something about getting dressed in a really good outfit, with the right shoes and your hair done that gives you a level of confidence and allows you to face a tough day. Looking good is also common courtesy to others. Looking good is simply a must.
I also splurge when it comes to my birthday. I believe birthdays should be celebrated. A birthday is a happy occasion as it’s another year that you’re alive, another year that you get to try again, to make a difference and simply to live. It allows for reflection on the year that just ended and for introspection on whether you did enough to make the world a better place. It’s a time to think and to provide another chance to live according to your purpose. I enjoy birthdays and I believe they should be celebrated with much zeal and so I splurge.
