World Cup

World Cup

Every four years, I get swept up in World Cup fever. Along with approximately 3 billion viewers worldwide, I’m glued to my television screen for a month. It doesn’t matter what time of the night or day games are being shown, I try to watch as many games as I can. Canada doesn’t have much of a history of appearing in the World Cup. Actually, they’ve only gone to the World Cup once, in 1986. I cheer for all the teams, and since I moved to Japan, for Japan in particular.

Rather than stay at home to watch games, going to a sports bar provides a good atmosphere where I can share my excitement with other people over a few drinks. I’ve met many new people from various countries this way.
